about Soulless
Updates are on Sundays, as often as I’m able to.

Soulless’ roots stretch back to 2003, though actual work on the story began sometime in 2004. Work on the layouts for the actual comic began in 2008. Though the story has profoundly changed since its original incarnation (an 11,000 word short story), at its core it has largely stayed the same.

On the technical side: Soulless is 100% digital, with everything from layouts to finished product being created on a Wacom Intuos3 R.I.P!! Intuos4 tablet. As far as software goes, Photoshop CS4 and Google Sketchup are the tools of choice. Sketchup is used for 3D set modeling, and vehicles. While I assemble the majority of the actual sets, I use the vehicles and props from the 3D warehouse as templates and scene-construction material as well. My infinite gratitude extends to those who make such models available for use.

about the author

I fled Texas to live and go to school in Seattle. Though I really want to work in film, I realize this probably won’t happen unless I move to California. Which I don’t really want to do, because I love it here. So to appease my inner visual-storyteller, I make this comic instead. Some stories need to be told, and I feel this is one of them.

This is a labor of love, and an ongoing challenge for me — I chose to tackle a long-term project that would kick me in the ass as an artist. Please be patient while I engage backgrounds in combat, and bear with my fruitless struggles against the demons of perfectionism. :P
